Congressional District 8 is having a special election to fill a vacancy that occurred more than 6 months before the regularly scheduled election.
The Primary Election will be held on February 27, 2018 and the General Election will be held on April 24, 2018.

 Hello all LWVMP members and friends,

This spring, WE ARE ON A MISSION and we need your help!
League of Women Voters members are working with the Outlaw Dirty Money ("ODM") Campaign to gather signatures on the ODM initiative for the November ballot. See information on this campaign here: AZ Central on "Outlaw Dirty Money" .
WE ONLY HAVE UNTIL JUNE 1st to do this!

We are looking to build teams specifically to help fulfill our commitment to this critical cause. (This is a finite commitment that ends June 1 st .) The League is looking for members to:

  • Go to to register as a volunteer
  • Or the Events tab on the Outlaw Dirty Money Facebook page. Follow this page, Events Tab on Facebook, to get regular updates.
  • Gather signatures specifically for the West Valley Women's Day Out Expo on March 17th, sign up with ODM here.


--Volunteer to be a dispersal site for petitions;
--Volunteer to deliver and/or collect petitions;
-- Find venues in your area for collecting signatures;
-- Organize volunteers to sign up to collect signatures in SHIFTS at scheduled venues;
--Volunteer to notarize petitions.

We The People Summit

Details: Registration is now open for the next We the People Summit on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Phoenix Convention Center, South Building.  This third summit will focus on everything elections: Get Out The Vote (GOTV) tools and techniques, Combating Voter Suppression, Marketing and Messaging, Political Fundraising, Poll Monitor Training, Deputy Registrar Training, Intracommunity Dialogue and more!

We The People is excited to announce that we are partnering with the Maricopa County Recorder's Office to offer several certified trainings ahead of the CD8 special election and upcoming general elections.
