LWVMP Member Meet ’n Greet
and Orientation

New Member Orientation:

TWO DATES!
Wednesday, May 9 5:30 - 8:00pm
Saturday, May 12 9:30 - noon

At the orientation you will learn about our most important principles, how we operate, how we're changing, and how YOU can become engaged at the level of your interest. We will review some major and interesting projects we are implementing that will help to Make Democracy Work in 2018 and beyond!

Wednesday, May 9th
Our evening orientation will be held at a private home near Hayden and Osborn in Scottsdale. Once you register, the hostess will contact you with specific address information. Arrive between 5:30pm and 6:00pm, and enjoy a light meal with the conversation, which should end around 8pm.

Wednesday, May 12th
We are holding a morning orientation at a private home near Dixileta and Scottsdale Road. Once you register, the hostess will contact you with specific address information. Please arrive between 9:30am and 10:00am. Light refreshments will be provided. We will end around noon.

Community Teams:
LWVMP serves most of Maricopa County. In order to assist members throughout the valley and make it easier to get involved, five community teams hold their own meetings and events. The teams are as follows:

    Still too busy? Look again! LWV is a grassroots organization in which members volunteer time to get informed, get involved, and improve our government and our community.

    Getting Involved

    New members can get involved in a variety of ways.

    Contact a Community Team Leader to find out what’s going on right now with that team.

    Contact the Voter Services Coordinator to find out about registering voters and offer to provide registration information to those in your local area.

    Attend and report on a community committee or board meeting in your area. These might include school board, city council, county supervisors, state commissions, or committee meetings at all levels of government.

    Attend a League Board meeting to hear about upcoming activities.

    Review the website CALENDAR or ISSUES pages to read about current LWV Metro Phoenix and other events.

    Attend a Member Orientation and Gathering.

    Volunteer to be trained to provide presentations to other groups about State Propositions and Ballot Measures.

    Help distribute LWV AZ Voter Guides.
