The movie is a dramatic story starring Hillary Swank and Angelica Houston, about the young activists who inherit the struggles of the suffragist movement from its founder, Carrie Chapman Catt. They set off a civil rights struggle every bit as dramatic at that of the 1960′s.

At the Phoenix Community Team Meeting
The Terraces, 16th St. & Northern
Wednesday, October 12th
9:30 a.m.

Legislative advocacy has changed in the new political reality. Elections really matter more than ever. Recent elections have changed the nature of how legislative advocacy is conducted. The next couple of years of legislative action and elections will be critical. Many traditional skills remain —power analysis, how to make a visit, telephone call or write a letter, how to deal with legislative dodges, how to join together for united action, how to do communications with policy makers and media. But new skills are also necessary to be effective with the new realities about how to join together in old and new alliances to build citizen skills and citizen organizations for political power and effective advocacy. Come learn traditional and new skills for the new realities. This advocacy training is provided by Protecting Arizona’s Family Coalition, a large alliance of community, and health and human services groups, with 10 years of experience organizing, training and preparing citizens for effective legislative advocacy.
