March 20, 2018
6pm - 8:30pm
1. Determine our next meeting place that will not be the Lengel's.
2. Teams are self driven so there was discussion about possible topics to pursue/study/learn:
a. Sustainable and renewable energy. Possibly paired with climate change but focused on AZ.
b. NPV - National Popular Vote
c. Article V Convention: what it is, why it's important, AZ's role
d. Current Ballot Initiatives and legislative activity
e. Arizona's election laws (ie. closed presidential preference and Sec of State Michelle Reagan): can they be changed? why should they be? what would be a more voter/citizen friendly change(s)?
f. Education Budget in AZ: effect of charter schools, sales tax, corporate tax (or lack thereof)--this would be Dave's expertise.
g. In depth study or series of speakers or some combination? My sense is that we all want to get started and understand that the direction will probably morph over the next several meetings.
Please bring your preferences, any changes to the topic descriptions above, and/or any other topics that you'd like to explore within this group.
EMAIL or call Care (602-536-6561) for address/directions.
** The date for this meeting has changed from March 13 to March 20.
