Join us for the events planned by our community teams, advocacy committees and voter services. As you plan your holiday calendars for November and December you will add the league events. We look forward to seeing you at one or more of these events.

COMMUNITY TEAMS

Sunday, Nov 5,  3-5 pm   Phoenix Community Team Kickoff event for league members. 


Come learn about volunteer opportunities, advocacy topics and learn about Arizona for Abortion Access, endorsed and supported by the LWV of Arizona.

Guest speakers: Jodi Liggett, Julie Gunnigle and a Planned Parenthood representative. 

Refreshments will be provided. All attendees must be registered to receive the exact location of the event. The major crossroads for the venue are 24th street and Camelback.

Registration required.  You must log into the website before registering on the Events page.  Bring a guest or prospective league member, but make sure you also register your guests.

ADVOCACY

Arizona for Abortion Access Citizens Initiative

Lunch and Learn Training for petition signature gatherers.  Choose from these two dates:

Thursday, Nov 2, 1-2 pm   Please register in advance.  

Thursday, Nov 9, 1-2 pm   Please register in advance.  

Additional opportunities to engage in the AAA Campaign:

1. Volunteers needed to serve as “Depots” and “Hubs” to manage distribution of petitions

2. Complete this short survey    AAA Volunteer Survey
3. Circulator Training for league members collecting signatures (Training is recommended for all volunteers, including Depots and Hubs, and those who want to learn more about the petitions)

Monday-Tuesday, Nov 13-14 (Starts at noon), Veterans Stand for Democracy Event.

LWV Arizona is partnering with Veterans for American Ideals. Please join us at the Veterans Stand for Democracy event Nov 13 and 14. Event is free to the public. Register here 

Tuesday, Nov 14, 12-1 pm  Alternatives to Community Safety:  Restorative Justice – A community conversation with Leo Hylton presented by the LWVMP Advocacy Criminal Justice Issue team. Register here

VOTER SERVICES

Thursday, Nov. 16, 9 am - 2 pm  Voter Registration Drive at CarringtonCollege

Carrington College (Mesa Campus) is hosting a voter registration drive for their students and community members in the area.  There  will be tabling booths at both campuses to maximize the opportunity for students and community members to register.  The Main campus is at 1001 W. Southern Ave, Suite 130, Mesa, AZ 85210 and the second campus is close by at 1300 S. Country Club Dr. #2, Mesa, AZ 85210. 

Please sign in to www.LWVMetroPhoenix.org then go to the Events calendar to volunteer. The campuses are close together so there is just one volunteer signup.
